Shops and prices
Every shop has the tabs For sale and Own vehicles. Models you already own get a tick. A bought vehicle is waiting right outside the shop. At the seller you can take a 30-second test drive; after that you are back at the shop. Under Own vehicles › View you can look at your own vehicle with its colour, parts and stance.

Free Bike Rental
A free Cruiser so new players can get around. Two spots: next to the Job Center and at the Newspaper Depot in Mirror Park (yellow bike on the map).
- No deposit, no licence, one bike per player. Take a new one and the old one disappears.
- Return it at any rental spot.
- Leave it alone for 10 minutes (more than 150 m away and not on it) and it goes back by itself, just like when you log out.
NPC taxi (/taxi)
Type /taxi and a taxi with a driver appears on a nearby road. It drives to you and shows as a yellow taxi on the map. Press E at the taxi to get in the back.
- Set a waypoint on the map and the driver takes you there calmly, following traffic. Without a waypoint he waits.
- F in the taxi = get out early.
/taxi cancel= cancel. - The ride is free. One taxi at a time, a new one after 30 seconds, and it waits 2 minutes for you.
- No stealing: the doors are locked and the driver stays in his seat.
Garages
Use the eye at a garage to take out your vehicles or store the one you are in. You can also do this at the shop where you bought it. Fuel, damage and colour are saved: what you store with a dent comes out with a dent.
| Garage | Where |
|---|---|
| Mirror Park Garage | Mirror Park, next to the bike shop |
| Job Center Garage | Next to the Job Center |
Tuning
Drive your own vehicle to Los Santos Customs (Burton or La Mesa) and use the eye: Tune this vehicle. You see every change live; you only pay (from your bank) when you press Apply.

🎨 Looks

Driving
| How it works | |
|---|---|
| B Seatbelt | With your belt on you cannot get out. Without it you hear a chime from 10 km/h, fly through the windscreen in a crash from 20 km/h, and your injuries are 1.5× worse. Motorcycles, bikes and boats have no belt. |
| B Helmet | On a motorcycle or scooter: helmet on/off. With a helmet a crash (and the fall after it) hurts half as much. It comes off when you get off. |
| Y Cruise control | Locks your current speed; + and − change it (up to 200 km/h). It learns how much throttle the vehicle needs, so heavy vehicles keep their speed too. Braking switches it off; accelerating goes faster for a moment. |
| U Speed limiter | Limits you to your current speed (standing still: 50 km/h / 30 mph); you drive yourself. + and − change the limit. Off with U or by getting out. The HUD shows LIMIT. Cruise control and the limiter exclude each other. |
| ← → ↑ | Indicators and hazard lights. Everyone nearby sees them. |
| Q L O | Emergency vehicles only: lights and siren menu, lights on/off, siren on/off. Four sirens (Wail, Yelp, Hi-lo, Phaser) with real 3D sound and a Doppler effect. Set the volume in F5 › Settings. |
| Weight | Cargo makes a vehicle heavier: it pulls away slower and brakes later. |
Fuel
Every vehicle uses fuel, depending on its class, more with cargo or a trailer, and a little when idling. Bikes have no tank. Empty? Type /tank (fuel stations come later).
| Class | Tank |
|---|---|
| Motorcycles & scooters | 12 L |
| Sedans | 55 L |
| Vans | 80 L |
| Industrial | 300 L |
| Commercial (trucks) | 400 L |
Damage and crashes
- Crashes hurt: the harder the hit, the more damage. A heavy vehicle (truck, bus) hits you harder; on a motorcycle or bike you are vulnerable.
- A pedestrian you hit gets hurt (from about 60 km/h it is fatal).
- After a heavy crash a vehicle can lose a wheel, catch fire or explode.
- Company vehicles: damage is taken from your deposit, in proportion.
| Vehicle class | Hits others | Your injuries |
|---|---|---|
| Compacts | 0.9× | 1.2× |
| Sedans | 1× | 1× |
| SUVs | 1.3× | 0.9× |
| Motorcycles | 0.7× | 1.8× |
| Industrial | 2.2× | 1.3× |
| Utility | 1.6× | 1.1× |
| Vans | 1.4× | 1.1× |
| Cycles | 0.3× | 1.6× |
